Dance Professional Development Program
The New York Conservatory Professional Development Program in Dance is an opportunity to spend one week in NYC working on your craft, meeting fellow actors, making important connections, and adding a professional clip to your reel!

One-Week Professional Development Program in Dance
In our Dance Professional Development Program, you’ll focus on:
→ Learning choreography of the great choreographers and creating your own choreography→ Participating in an all-day film shoot of a dance performance
And, you’ll leave with:
→ A professionally produced scene for your reelNote: For the Professional Development Programs, International participants may enter the U.S. on either the B1/B2 visa or ESTA as this would be considered recreational study not for credit or certification by USCIS.
Professional Development Programs are open to those 18 and older with performance experience
Dates:
- Monday, January 6, 2025 – Saturday, January 11, 2025
Cost: $1,500 per participant
- Housing Available: Up to 4-bed, suite-style rooms with private bath and kitchenette. Location within NYC Burroughs. Arrangements can be made with The New York Conservatory to book space in our Residence Hall for an additional $400 (plus a refundable $200. damage deposit).
Program Highlights:
- Create Your Own Choreography
- Work on existing choreography, performances will be documented for students to take away
- Experience Dance on Film, ending in a full day professional Film Shoot -footage edited and provided
- Experience NYC for a reasonable rate, including optional housing
Registration Requirements:
- Simple registration form
- Uploaded dance video
- Headshot and resume (if applicable)
Curriculum:
- Choreography Workshop with New York Conservatory faculty. Students will focus on expression through dance and developing original choreography.
- The Great Choreographers on existing choreography taught and professionally filmed.
- Film of Final Dance Performance using original choreography, students will develop, rehearse, and perform a dance concert ending with an all-day shoot off-site.
