New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts - 39 West 19th StreetNew York, New YorkUnited States
Our Open House provides the most complete experience of what it’s like to be a Conservatory student for a day. You and your guests will meet current students, staff, and faculty members. You’ll have the opportunity to observe and participate in two or more acting workshops, attend Q&A with a New York casting director, talk with one of our notable alumni, and tour our facilities. Plus, open house attendees wishing to audition will have the chance to do so.
Professional Training Programs Audition:
For the audition, please prepare two contemporary (1950s-present), age-appropriate monologues that are each one minute in length. Monologues should be contrasting and from a published play, screenplay, web series, or television script. Examples of contrasting monologues would be one dramatic and one comedic or monologues of the same genre with noticeably contrasting characters. We recommend reading the full play or script to fully understand the character you are portraying.
Summer Acting Training Program Scholarship Audition:
Please prepare one, age-appropriate monologue that is one minute in length.
All students auditioning should bring a headshot or photo to the audition. You’re welcome to perform 16 bars a cappella along with your monologues.
“I told my mother after the audition that it was an enlightening day to say the least. I fell in love with the school, the city, and all of the people who helped me through the day.”
