Looking Forward to a Career in Film and Television?

In the booming film and TV industries, new roles need to be filled by new actors; so it’s a great time to start an acting career. You might be able to find an open audition without training, but realistically, you won’t get prestigious parts - much less establish a full-time acting career - if you can’t impress casting directors with scene-stealing character and a practiced charisma. In other words, you need a convincing set of skills as a performer – the kind that comes from guided training with experienced professional actors and directors. We offer that training at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

Fast-Track Your Training in New York City

Because even young actors aren’t getting any younger, NYCDA has created a two-year AOS degree program in Film and Television Performance. More intensive than your local acting classes, but two years shorter than a typical university acting program, our Film and Television degree prepares you for a fast launch of your professional acting career without sacrificing the quality of your education.

If your dream is to perform on Broadway, we offer a similar program in Musical Theatre.

  • Train to Act On-Camera

Complete basic and advanced classes in the Meisner Technique, Movement for Actors, and Voice & Speech. Build the fundamentals that you’ll always rely on in your acting.

  • Learn the Acting Business

Receive training in the business side of acting and complete a professional internship -- possible placements include casting directors, agents, producers, or theater companies.

  • Find Your Specialty

At this acting school, your education is personalized to identify and build your strengths. Electives like improv, stand-up comedy, and combat for the camera are available.

  • Prepare for Your Debut

Before graduating, you’ll perform for a jury of casting directors, hear their feedback, and you’ll put together a Final Reel to highlight your skills.
