Learn to Act from Experienced Professionals
Your instructors are all actors from stage, film and television who have worked in the industry for years, and they take great joy from passing their knowledge on to the next generation.
Earn a Degree in Two Years
We offer Associate degree programs in either Film and Television Performance or Musical Theater Performance.

Since our programs include a professional internship in New York, you’ll never have to show up to auditions without experience. Possible placements include opportunities with casting directors, agents, producers, theater companies, or our in-house productions.

You’ll receive thorough training in:
The Meisner Technique – A time-tested methodology that helps you build a character and performance that audiences will find believable in any medium.
Movement for Actors – How to literally be in the right place at the right time on a stage or movie set.
Voice and Speech – The skill of projecting your best voice and being understood by the audience. (Classes in accent reduction are also available.)
Acting as a Business – How to navigate the entertainment industry as an actor, including how to behave at auditions and casting calls, and how to promote yourself to keep your career going after that first acting job.

It’s easy to audition for entry to NYCDA; you can do it from home via Skype or a Youtube video.
We’ll also be happy to help you with the process of getting an F1 student visa and complete our other requirements for international students.
