NYCDA is a school of drama like no other. Our conservatory environment means almost every class is a performance class. With small class sizes, you’ll be in studio each day, seeing your performance on screen and getting personal guidance to improve every aspect of your acting technique.
Our instructors are professional actors who know what directors are looking for at auditions. You’ll have the advantage of one-on-one advice and mentorship from someone who’s already made it in the acting business.
In just two years, you can emerge with an AOS degree in Film and Television Performance or Musical Theater Performance, plus the confidence and technical knowledge to make you ready for your new career. Compare that to most universities, where you can major in drama, but you probably can’t specialize solely in acting, or have your degree in as little as two years. At NYCDA, we intensively train the next generation of actors, and we do nothing else.
The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts is more than just an acting school. We’re an affordable and realistic path to following your dreams, and achieving a career in film, television, or musical theater.
Our classes teach a wide array of important skills, from voice, movement, and script analysis, to advanced topics like audition technique, improv, or screen combat. In addition, every student gets instruction in navigating the business of entertainment as an actor. We teach a versatile set of skills that will set you up for success and distinguish you, as one of our graduates, from “just another drama major.”
Are you interested? Then stop dreaming about becoming an actor, and act! Apply for admission at NYCDA today. If you need more information, please reach out to us and we’ll get you anything you need to help make your decision.
Scholarships are awarded to students based on their audition performances and financial need, so book an audition today. Don’t worry if you’re far away from our campus, we offer online auditions through Zoom or Skype.
Thank you for taking the time to consider us. If you are as serious as we are about acting, we hope The New York Conservatory is your next step.
